A query for my fellow residents of the Barge:

[Aya is straight to the point today, even moreso than usual.  Her eyes are distant, but focused on something beyond the camera as she speaks in her usually cool, calculated tone.  Words chosen for a reason.]

How many of you have lost Wardens before your promised Graduation?  How many of these separations occurred without warning?

Or, perhaps, more relevantly...how many Wardens here have left unfulfilled promises to those you have sworn to assist?

Didn't miss it at all. I'm thinking you're not grasping the idea of symbolic language, though. Too literal for it, maybe.

The questions, though-- no idea. in the end? Doesn't matter. Until we can figure out exactly what makes graduation and demotion a thing for him, for everybody, we're here at his whim.

I'm aware of my current powerless state to affect it and don't engage in wasting energy over things I cannot yet change.

Calling attention to defiance while one is significantly lessened in power is a highly illogical strategy, and one that would only lead to failure.

I am clever enough to realize when I am attempting to be fooled, yet I am also not ignorant enough to act as I am now.

[Words of defiance were different than actions. Others had spoken out of turn before. There was no harm in making such claims, even over an open Network.]

I do not require luck. Nor would I ever rely on such a fickle semantic.

You were a warden, right? You going to try and play the graduation game to get off the boat?

Since at one point, you believed that it worked.

It is not a game. Not to me.

[Which is neither a yes or a no towards the idea of 'graduation'. She knew it worked; every inmate who had been graduated had been given the chance to leave. Not all of them came back, and those that did claimed to do so voluntarily. That only left the question as to how and if it was possible, for a creature like her.]
