[For those who knew the "old" Aya...the gentle expression on her face as she turns on the feed may seem somewhat familiar. Though the illusion is quickly dispelled by two things: her body language, including the passive hand resting lightly against her chest, holding a small library book in place...and the bright, blue eyes where there had once been either black or green.]

I...don't understand what is going on. The last thing I recall, the Red Lanterns were attacking. I was waiting for my beloved to return when Lord Atrocitous was upon me and I...then, nothing.

[The voice is hers as well, but also different. Softer. Timid. Fearful.]

My name is Ilana. I come from the planet Volkreig of the Forgotten Zone.

Somebody help me. Please.

Hello Ilana. I am Spock, [of Vulcan, he nearly says, and then doesn't.] of the United Federation of Planets. I am responsible for your safety aboard this vessel. How may I be of assistance?

[She does not recognize the affiliation, not the name. Suspicion keeps her from feeling immediate relief, after a lifetime of living in War, but she does visibly relax at his gentle tone.]

I would like to know where I am, and how I may return home. My beloved will be coming back from battle soon.

We are aboard a vessel known as the Barge, and [I regret to inform you that we cannot leave at this time] you will be sent home in a few days.

The ship is currently experiencing some difficulties with navigation and you may be inconvenienced should you choose to venture outside your quarters. Would you prefer that I remain with you?

Then my being here is a...mistake?

[She could accept that. A faulty navigational system would lead them to travel past Volkreig. Perhaps having sensed their people in danger, and taking them away from the threat of the Red Lanterns.]

I would not object to the temporary company. Forgive me if I do not manage to provide much hospitality at the moment, however.

[Not... entirely a mistake, but he doesn't know how to explain Aya and Razer to Razer's dead wife. He barely understands it himself.]

You will be sent home in a few days.

[Beat.]

I do not mind. I shall be there shortly.

[Perhaps explaining that she was supposed to be dead would be a start; she hasn't quite made it that far yet.]

I apologize I cannot be of more help; I do not entirely know where I am at the moment. The room's architecture is foreign to me.

[Spock does not answer, he simply walks to Aya's quarters and knocks on the door.]

Ms. Ilana.

[There is a distinct shuffling of feet, a few indecipherable murmurs, but a moment later the door opens with a distinct hss. "Ilana" stands on the other side, peering up at him with wide eyes.]

And you are...Spock, correct?

Indeed I am. [He holds up the Vulcan salute in greeting.] May I come in?

[She eyes his hand curiously, unfamiliar with the custom but recognizing it as a form of greeting. Her gaze then travels down to the strange hands attached to the stranger body...somehow not fully seeing what was there...and holds them up in mirror.]

Yes, of course.

There is a chair along the far wall. You are welcome to sit, should you desire so.

[He stands next to the chair, waiting for her to sit down before he does so himself.]

May I ask how long you have been aboard?

[She sits on the far edge of the bed. Her posture cordial, but also slightly curved into herself. Shoulders tense.]

My memories are hazy, but I don't recall being here much long before I called for help over the communications system. Twenty minutes, maybe? Maybe less.

Tell me...is this a hospital ship?

Not as such. [He sits down, giving a cursory glance over the room.] Do you recall holding an object upon your arrival?

[Her eyes fell to the side table. A copy of Grimm's Fairy Tales rested upon the otherwise empty surface.]
